Preaching climate change through stories, experiences

A major challenge in climate change communication is that many people perceive the impacts of climate change to be far away in time and space. Therefore, it is important to emphasize that climate change impacts are here and now, and already harming people and local ecosystems.

One way to do this is to share the personal stories of people who have experienced the effects of climate change. Climate change is complicated and can often feel far removed from our lives. Sharing our personal experiences stories of climate change can place facts into context and can help us understand how it is relevant to our lives.

Whether you have research to share, work for a non-profit, or shape government policy to reduce carbon emissions and fossil fuel use, Climate change stories are the best tools we have to help people understand the climate emergency and take action.

Majority of people these days are aware of global warming by seeing the impacts of climate change in their own lives — from heat waves to extreme weather events, they’re just not sure how to respond but when you tell a story about climate action, you offer a guide and better understanding for people who want to take climate actions.
